While addressing the crowd at the ceremony, Stephanopoulos called it a "great gift" to "cover the biggest most consequential stories of our time, to interview the most interesting and inspiring people of our time, to be able to say good morning to the entire country every morning, not knowing what they're going through but trying to help guide them with the information, the advice that they need to get their day started, and maybe put a smile on their face as well." In her speech, Roberts thanked Disney for her extensive career and for encouraging her to "venture outside of my comfort zone." "We're celebrating your courage, your faith, your kindness and the countless lives you have touched," she continued, speaking to Roberts. "Hollywood may be putting your star on the ground today, but you spent your life showing us how to reach for the sky." In his speech, Fox said Stephanopoulos "takes his job very seriously and is proud of the work he gets to do." "He loves the people who watch him every day, and I've seen him on several occasions have a chat with them and leave them happier than he found them," Fox added before jokingly nominating Stephanopoulos to run for office during the 2028 election.
